World of Warcraft World of Warcraft: Forever (third permanent WoW version, included with subscription) release time in every region

Blizzard HQ Irvine, CA (Blizzard Entertainment)

World of Warcraft: Forever goes live in every region at the same moment: 3:00 p.m. PST on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. That’s still 11 p.m. on November 4 in London, but midnight in central Europe and 10 a.m. in Sydney, so most of continental Europe and Australia actually start playing on November 5. Below we cover the official time, how it converts, what’s known about preload and downtime, and what’s still unconfirmed.

The quick answer

Blizzard’s launch post says Forever is launching worldwide November 4 at 3:00 pm PST. The UK version of the same post gives it as 4 November at 23:00 GMT. Those two times are the same moment.

There’s no staggered regional rollout and no early access. The countdown on the official Forever page runs to 23:00 UTC, which lines up exactly. It’s a single global launch, so every region goes live at the same moment.

You don’t need a box copy. When World of Warcraft: Forever launches globally on November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PST, access will be included with your World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time.

Forever launch time in your time zone

We converted the official 3:00 p.m. PST start. US clocks fall back on November 1 and UK clocks fell back in late October, so standard time applies on both sides of the Atlantic.

Region Time zone Local launch time
US West Coast PST (UTC-8) Wed Nov 4, 3:00 p.m.
US East Coast EST (UTC-5) Wed Nov 4, 6:00 p.m.
UK and Ireland GMT (UTC+0) Wed Nov 4, 11:00 p.m.
Central Europe CET (UTC+1) Thu Nov 5, 12:00 a.m.
Queensland AEST (UTC+10) Thu Nov 5, 9:00 a.m.
Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra AEDT (UTC+11) Thu Nov 5, 10:00 a.m.

Australia needs a note. Brisbane stays on AEST all year, but the southeastern states are on daylight time in November. Reputable outlets agree on the Sydney figure: Insider Gaming lists Australian Eastern Time (AET) as 10:00 AM, November 5, and DualShockers gives the same time for Sydney.

Heads up

A few early recaps listed November 5 as the launch date. That’s the European calendar date, not a delay. Go by 3:00 p.m. PST.

Why you might see “PDT” on some pages

One fan guide noticed that a Blizzard article gave the time with a different suffix, but every other official page says PST and the countdown matches PST. The reason is simple: by November 4, US clocks have fallen back, so the launch time is written as PST.

Every date Blizzard has published

Blizzard announced World of Warcraft: Forever at BlizzCon 2026 on September 12, 2026. Here’s the confirmed timeline, with what each date means for your character.

Date What happens
Sep 17, 2026 Beta opened (now over)
Oct 27 to Nov 3 Early Name Reservation for pack owners
Nov 4, 3:00 p.m. PST Global launch, level cap 60
Nov 4 to Nov 11 Invite-A-Friend launch codes work
Dec 9, 2026 Raids unlock
Winter 2026 Hardcore ruleset (no day set)
Jan 11, 2027 Warcraft Forever Collection leaves the shop

Name reservation started on a staggered schedule: Europe on October 27 at 18:00 CET and North America on October 27 at 1:00 p.m. PDT, with Korea and Taiwan following the next morning local time. Players who own a pack can still claim names until the window closes on November 3.

Icy Veins’ roadmap puts the raid unlock on December 9 with Barrow Deeps (10-man), Hyjal Summit (20-man) and Onyxia’s Lair (40-man), and lists the Hardcore launch for Winter 2026.

Preload and downtime: what’s confirmed

We couldn’t find a Blizzard post with a dedicated launch preload date, download size or maintenance window for Forever. Several guides tracking the launch say the same. One reports Blizzard has not published a preload date, download size or queue plan for launch day.

What is confirmed: the Forever client already shows up in Battle.net, because name reservation happens in-game. Blizzard’s guidance is to launch the game, choose your ruleset, and reserve your names.

Quick steps: install the Forever client before launch night

  1. Open Battle.net and select World of Warcraft.
  2. Open the Game Version menu.
  3. Choose World of Warcraft: Forever and click Install.
  4. Update GPU drivers and Battle.net itself.
  5. Confirm your subscription or Game Time is active.

Login queues on launch night are anyone’s guess. Blizzard hasn’t published queue numbers or a population target, so we’re not going to guess either.

Rulesets instead of realms

You won’t see a realm list. On 4 November 2026 you pick a ruleset instead: Normal, PvP, Roleplaying or Roleplay-PvP, with Hardcore arriving after launch. Roleplay-PvP came late: Blizzard added a Roleplay-PvP ruleset on October 22 for the November 4 launch.

Agree on this with your guild before 3 p.m. PST. You cannot group across different rulesets, and faction grouping restrictions are retained. Names also work differently from Classic: they have 2 parts, like Ana Forever, and are unique per region.

Veteran's tip

Pick your ruleset and faction in guild chat today. Splitting across rulesets is the most common way launch groups fail to find each other, and ordinary characters can’t transfer later.

Addons are a smaller trap. WoW Forever runs on the modern game client and follows the same addon rules as Midnight. Only an addon whose author has released a Forever build will load.

What to expect when the servers open

Forever isn’t a fresh Classic realm. Unlike Classic, which recreates the original game as it was, Forever expands upon the original version of Azeroth by adding new zones, quests, dungeons, raids, races, abilities, and race-class combinations, while retaining the level cap at 60.

Blizzard’s own BlizzCon pitch promised three new zones, over 1,000 new quests, nine new dungeons, two new raids, the new Skyborne race. The story is set after Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core, in a separate continuity from modern WoW.

Classic players can relax. It’s not a replacement for Classic Era or Anniversary. Those servers continue as normal. Your beta characters, though, are gone: per one launch checklist, every player starts at level 1 on a fresh, realmless world, and all beta progress is wiped.

Population claims will start flying after launch. Forever runs through Battle.net, not Steam, so it won’t show up in Steam-based charts of the most played MMOs. Treat any “player count” you see in week one as a third-party estimate unless Blizzard publishes a figure.

Before you buy anything for Forever

You only need a subscription or Game Time. The optional packs are extras. The Battle.net shop sells 3 optional packs: the Skyborne Heroic Pack at $29.99, the Skyborne Epic Pack at $59.99 and the Warcraft Forever Collection at $79.99. The Heroic Pack is the cheapest one that unlocks the Skyborne race.

Buying the Epic Pack now gets you less than it used to. The beta closed, so Epic bought now no longer adds beta time. Blizzard also notes that pack benefits only apply to the specific WoW account it was purchased for.

Heads up

Blizzard has not announced preload times, a download size or launch-night queue plans. We’ll update this page if any of those are published before November 4.

FAQ

What time does WoW Forever launch?

3:00 p.m. PST on November 4, 2026. That’s 6:00 p.m. EST, 11:00 p.m. GMT, midnight CET, and 10:00 a.m. AEDT (9:00 a.m. AEST in Queensland) on November 5.

Is WoW Forever free with my subscription?

Yes. Base access comes with a WoW subscription or Game Time. The paid packs add the Skyborne race, name reservation, cosmetics and, depending on the pack, game time.

Can I preload WoW Forever?

Blizzard hasn’t announced a separate preload date. The client can already be installed from the Game Version menu in Battle.net, so install it early.

Is Hardcore available at launch?

No. Hardcore is planned for after launch, and Blizzard’s roadmap only says winter, with no specific day.

Can I play with friends on another ruleset?

Not in dungeons or raids. Grouping doesn’t work across rulesets, and Horde and Alliance still can’t party together.
